At the top of Berthoud Pass there is a parking area with restrooms. Stop here and walk along the Continental Divide trail to get a taste of hiking in high country.
When you look up, this mountain used to be a ski area but closed in 1994.
Now the mountain is a great place to snowshoe in winter or walk its trails in summer and early fall. Or just take a break while continuing on to Winter Park and Grand Lake, Colorado.
The entire drive over Berthoud Pass is magnificent with waterfalls and an occasional moose wandering around.

Visit us in Winter Park as the leaves start to change and we’ll help you make lodging arrangements and tell you about the local restaurants.
See you soon,
The Grand Concierge
